In 2018, I wrote the script and documentation for the temporary exhibition “Us, Robots,” which opened in October in Madrid, for the Telefónica Foundation. My responsibility was to shape the entire historical and cultural journey of robots: from the automata of Ancient Greece to the first time someone used the word “robot,” including their most kitsch versions in comics, television, and science fiction films. I also managed the acquisition of materials accompanying the exhibition—comics, vinyl records, books, vintage robots, and more—and I was also in charge of the purchase or transfer of rights to the videos exhibited, negotiating directly with major studios, distributors, or artists, as appropriate.
